Hello! I’m Alan Moore and I provide professional, friendly, piano lessons to beginner and intermediate students aged 5 to adult in Malton and across Ryedale. For convenience, I travel to your home which makes it very easy to start lessons!
If you are a homeschool family, I can provide music lessons for your children during the morning or afternoon to suit your schedule.
I tailor my music lessons to YOUR needs, which might involve learning a pop song, a Chopin waltz, a song from a film such as Disney’s ‘Frozen’, or a refresher-course in reading musical notation. Everybody is different and I will help you to achieve YOUR aims and ambitions, not MINE!
As an experienced classroom teacher, I can also help with music theory or composition studies, especially those embarking on GCSE examination courses.
I have also taught, supported, encouraged, monitored and assessed students who are embarking on the Skills section of the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award. A 30 min lesson each week (plus practice time) can show development of practical and personal skills. As an Assessor, I have tried to inspire young people to develop practical and social skills and personal interests. Click to read a DofE student testimonial.

Music Teachers helper
To enhance teaching and learning, this website has a login section for parents and students via a reputable company called MusicTeachersHelper.com.
They provide a software solution that allows my music services to be efficient, well organised and also helps me to provide free additional support outside of lesson times.
- Communication: emails can now be sent on a wide range of things including invoices, receipts, lesson schedules, etc. You can contact me at any time
- User areas: both parents and students can have their own user area with one simple signup. Parents are able to access payment and billing information while students can access extra lesson materials, lesson timetables and email myself with any queries
- Loan items: students can borrow items and log them in their own personal user area. When the items are due to be returned, an email request will be sent
- Resources: I upload worksheets/additional information on a regular basis to help all my students achieve their full potential
Hopefully, both parents and students will find the website a convenient way of dealing with the administration, support and communication side of their music lessons.
Above all, my main aim is to make music lessons fun and enjoyable!
Get in touch if you would like to enquire about piano lessons or register your details (no commitment).
